SPECIAL EDITION~

I found a site that can monetise our boring holiday... I'm not sure whether it works for you or not but try this out. It's a service called TextLinkPro, it's advertising companies and an opportunity for bloggers to earn money. (Yoho!) So the readers of my blog, not those TTWP guys, have some fortune.

You can actually sell text links in your blog. All you gotta do is fulfill the task like me, having 3 required links in your post and you start gain money!

And for advertisers, maybe, the clan masters, can use this method to gain some members. They can buy text links from other bloggers or webmasters to advertise their clan. There are text links for sale in TextLinkPro that advertisers can promote just about, anything as long as the bloggers bid on their stuffs.

Welcome to this blog, this blog covers Tap Tap Revenge Game series that will help and solve most problems you encounter.

If you have any problem, just write into GetSatisfaction and I will try to travel and keep seeking for problems to solve. Then I will post it here.

Tracks Cracking! a.k.a File Twisting

So we downloaded Invaders Must Die, and some Tap Tap Dance. But we cannot paly them offline.
Then we know the structure of a track, consisting of artwork.png, audio.m4a/m4c, info.plist and taptrack.ttr2_track.

The downloaded track stored at UUID/tmp, if you copy them into UUID/Documents/Tracks, they will not shows up in track list. So now we gotta do is to make them visible, yes we must change info.plist.

Too bad the info file is encrypted and we must get one from TTR2 (I think you can do it), change the song title, artist and most importantly, unique identifier key, the key is actually the folder name without .track. Length, artist website is not important. And the difficulty, if you know it, such as Where's Your Head At, add some integer.

It will shows up in easy, medium and hard.

Save it and replace the encrypted info.plist. Add '.track' at the last of the folder name. Save it into UUID/Documents/Track

Voila... You can now play your tracks!

DMB and NIN in TTR3

This whole post had been changed COMPLETELY to make sure readers understand what am I talking about.

Sorry but my hand shake due to want to take this screen shot but as you see the special sequence still WORKS! Scoreboard, exp points, coins and even challenges and battles work perfectly.

So if you really wanna do it, I will explain step by step.

Ingredients:
*Imported DMB NIN tracks on TTR2
*WinSCP on Windows
*OpenSSH on iDevice
*Essential: Jailbroken iDevice

First you have to import tracks first on TTR2 then what you do is to transfer all your downloaded tracks of TTR2 to your computer.

If you don't know how to use openSSH please google it and www.youtube.com/tysiphonehelp is the most helpful in this thing

Your TTR2 tracks will be stored at
var/mobile/Applications/(UUID for TTR2)/Documents/Tracks

Of course copy your themes as well
var/mobile/Applications/(UUID for TTR2)/Documents/Themes

Once you done your first step, you are ready to pick out those tracks. To make everything simpler, try to use thumbnails in windows explorer.

You will spot the apps icon on some tracks folders then you have copy them, related themes copy as well!

Then you must find TTR3 app, this gonna be tricky since TTR2 and TTR3 shares the same app title (Tap Tap.app). The difference between them is to check the audio file in xxx.track is *.m4a in TTR2 and *.m4c in TTR3.

It's in the same directory as TTR2 but just different app folder. You have to copy tracks and themes into their folders respectively. If you don't copy the themes, tracks won't work.

Note: Do not get these tracks from battles, they will crash...

Downside: You will find yourself playing the tracks a little stricter than TTR2, I dunno why but it happens to Gaga and Coldplay as well.

Free premium track SPREAD!

This is no longer secret as many people recently starts to spread Coldplay and Lady Gaga tracks in battle field.

That's why now everybody don't have to buy the editions in order to play those tracks. Just go to battle field and accept a challenge and you will have that track.

There are songs that available in the store such as Viva la Vida, Lovers in Japan, LoveGame and Poker Face, you cannot get them for free.

If you have a shit luck, you can go to related forums to get those tracks for free! Tapulous having a bad time now...

Hey guys, did you ever try to 'renew' your tracks?

Now on any TTR3 installed device, delete fireflies by Own City and go to the store then download it again. You will get a new, more awesome theme with ads shows up at the last seconds.

Songs backup

Yup, I had a trip to GetSatisfaction Tapulous and realise that many people having problem with the backup function of iTunes. I will clear things up here.

You must know that iTunes backups system settings, installed apps payload (default app file) and the medias. But iTunes is not going to backup your apps documents such as tracks and themes that aren't bundled with the game. Therefore iTunes cannot backup them as the files will soon expired over time.

So there is a simple backup guide that tailored for JAILBROKEN DEVICES only... unjailbroken devices are not able to backup.

Simply install your computer-device file transfer protocol like openSSH and WinSCP (search on YouTube for guide). So now where's the tracks and themes?

It will be located here:
var/mobile/Applications/(UUID for Tap Tap.app)/Documents
You will find a few folders namely Themes and Tracks and *.attrib files.

If you are using special edition that require unlocking difficulties and special tracks, do backup the attribs file too! If you are using conventional Tap Tap, you don't have to as they do nothing for you.

So to restore all the tracks, all you have to do is reverse action, copy all the tracks back into the respective folders!

Alternatives to Tap Tap Revenge!

Here's some alternative apps you can play as an alternative to TTR series by Tapulous:

Tap Studio by Drop D Studio (FREE) tested on my own
This app allows you to record and play on your own songs. It uses your songs from your music library and tap it on your own! But the skin not as good as TTR3.

ROCK BAND by EA ($9.99) tested from appulo.us
This is real expensive game with slow loading time. This is good in terms of graphics and functionality such as 4 simultaneous iPhone game play and Facebook connection. But the game sucks which the overdrive trigger was way too sensitive even a slight shake of your hand and you wasted the energy bar... The price of tracks are the same and it's not free at all... That's no suck Tap Tap Thursday and I tried it through appulo.us and find it sucks!

TapMania from Cydia (FREE) tested directly with initial tracks
It's an alternative to the expensive Dance Dance Revolution and it supports file type by StepMania! But the game interface is way too simple and not luxury... It's open-source but you have to jailbreak your iDevice in order to access Cydia store.

Guitar Rock Tour 1/2 by GameLoft ($4.99) tested with lite edition
Quite nice but the song library can no longer be extended as it's sealed in it's own package. The animation looks good and loading time is bearable (not as bad as ROCK BAND). The guitar notes are not as confusing as ROCK BAND (which slide over the frets is not really a good idea after all)

DJ Mix Tour by GameLoft ($4.99) tested with lite edition
EXTREMELY NOT RECOMMENDED!!!! The rythem too slow and not challenging at all... And you have to scrath it?

And that's all I tried for now and more coming later... such as DJ Mix Tour, iDance and much more yet to be discovered... If you have any other discovery, feel free to leave a comment...

Weird tracks in your library

Yep, I bought only Lady Gaga, JET, Gwen Stefani and 1000 coins cost Morgan Page tracks packs + Coldplay 13 tracks.

I tapped Restore Purchases Tracks option and of course it does import every songs I bought (except Coldplay that use another thing)

Strangely I found Wheels by Foo Fighters get imported into my library and I thought what happened? There's another topic I found on GetSatisfaction that one guy get Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews band (not available on TTR3 yet!) with Asher Roth "Asleep on the Bread Aisle with College" theme. So I suggest is it something strange happening on Tap Tracks store server?

Theme swapping!

Coldplay theme is extremely confusing especially Viva la Vida theme. Keep blinking and blinking until we missed it!

Here is what you can do on jailbroken device:

1) Use file transferring softwares like winSCP or to do it on board. Use iFile that can be get from Cydia (http://repo.sinfuliphone.com)
2) Look for the theme you hate! back it up for future uses and simply copy the theme or duplicate the theme you like and rename it to make sure TTR3 engine can look for it.

Viva La Vida Remix is not hard as you first think of it, just use TTRDJ to play it and you will sure get FC like me!

Compact tappers

It's not the difficulty, it's too pact together make us confusing when playing Louder than Boom and No Star Over Bethlehem.

To make them faster , in TTR2:

1) Take any theme like Gaga.ttrTheme, copy it and rename it (like Gagax.ttrTheme). Find TimeWindow in the theme.cfg file, to make taps faster you have to make the value smaller.
2) Find No Star Over Bethlehem (QFPE.....), change the theme name inside the plist to 'Gagax' for example.

In TTR3,

1)Find theme.cfg inside TTRDJ.ttrTheme, change the TimeWindow value smaller.

VOILA! You will see the effect of changing not hacking... It moves faster but the gaps are larger!

TTR2 to TTR3

Sometimes we found out that Pitbull and other artists such as Protest The Hero lost their legendary songs in TTR3. To get them back in TTR3, you must have openSSH, WinSCP and connection... If you want to do it without computer, simply use iFile available in Cydia store.

TTR2 cannot support TTR3 since TTR3 encrypted the tracks.

P/S: Coldplay songs use the same UUID as TTR3, you can import the whole pack but the theme is not really compatible.

Just find the tracks in the document folder in TTR2 and copy them all. Any special themes cannot be used unless you change the in info.plist

Weapon button

As far as I known, there are numerous players complaint about the position of weapon button (aka 16x), there is a simple solution to this, what you have to do first is to find out the position you want...

Here is the website you can drag 2 buttons then find out the value, then just copy the value to game_defaults.cfg

Unjailbroken:
1. Change your ttr3.ipa to .zip, you can find the config file in Payload folder>Tap Tap.app>game_defaults.cfg.
2.Us notepad or wordpad to change the value then reinstall it.

Jailbroken:
1. Make sure OPENSSH is installed in your device and the client program in your computer.( like WinSCP)
2. If you think wasting time on searching the app folder looking for the app, you can use registered iFile that get from cydia, or cracked one from http://repo.sinfuliphone.com/ to look for the program damn easily.
3. Once you find it, it's the same with the unjailbroken. BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO REINSTALL!!!
4. once you start the app, it'll be better ever before!
